We were delighted that on the 11th August 2017 the formal opening of the Poole Hospital PET/CT Centre took place with Guy Henry cutting the ribbon.

This is the most advanced state of the art scanner in the UK and we should be proud that it is in Poole and our charity has been involved jointly with Poole NHS Trust and Alliance Medical UK, indeed had we not been involved the venture would not have taken place. The scanner replaces the mobile unit which visited the hospital and helps identify changes in the size and location of cancers.

Guy Henry who is one of the Patrons of the Trust is known through his appearances in the TV Series ‘Holby City” in which he plays the Chief Executive of the hospital Henrik Hanssen, he is also known for his appearances in the Harry Potter film series and in the recent Star Wars film Rogue One. He has had connections with the Dorset area for many years and his parents live nr Wimborne. He made a wonderful contribution to the opening event.

Pictures show our Chairman Stuart Dean with Guy Henry, Debbie Fleming the Chief Executive of Poole NHS Trust, Steve Erskine the Chairman of Poole NHS Trust and Mark Ferreira the Medical Director of Alliance Medical UK.
