Folk Festival at Wimborne – June 2019
The Trustees organised a bottle stall at Wimborne Folk Festival and were blessed with a beautiful day. It proved to be a very popular event with those attending and it was good to meet a number of old friends who had raised funds for PHCTT previously.
At the end of the day over £400 had been raised by the volunteers who helped thanks to those attending.

Bluebell Walk April 2019
Dorothy Alder and fellow Trustees of Poole Hospital Cancer Treatment Trust organised a Bluebell Walk and Cream Tea at Bloxworth to raise funds for the trust. We were blessed with fine weather and supporters of the Trust enjoyed a walk through the Bluebell wood followed by a cream tea at the home of one of our supporters. A raffle was held with a fine range of prizes including the use of a Mazda MX5 for a weekend, vouchers for several local restaurants, a family visit to Compton Acres and many others. We sincerely thank all the local businesses who supported the event. A total of £922.00 was raised during the afternoon.

Cobhams Engineering Presentation
The staff at Cobhams Engineering decided to nominate Poole Hospital Cancer Treatment Trust as one of the charities they wished to support during 2018/19. During the year they arranged a number of activities for the enjoyment of staff and their families and were aided in raffles and the like by donations obtained from local stores by PHCTT. During the year they raised a total approaching £10,000 0f which PHCTT received one third amounting to £3,207.41.

Summer Solstice Golf Day
Following the earlier piece on this event – the Trust was delighted that the event raised a total of £2,874.80 for our work. Wonderful support for PHCTT.

Masonic Fundraising donation to PHCTT
Helen Frank is currently receiving treatment for breast cancer at Poole Hospital and as she has received such wonderful support from the staff at Poole she, in consultation with her husband, Theo Frank, wished to raise some funds to benefit the cancer dept.
Theo was at that time Worshipful Master of Rowena Lodge in Bournemouth and through that organisation and events held, the sum of £910.00 was raised for PHCTT.
Not content with raising this sum for PHCTT, Helen is raising more money through the Just Giving website.

Cobhams Charity Christmas Party in aid of PHCTT
PHCTT is one of three charities being supported this year by Cobhams engineering – Our picture shows one of Santa’s helpers delivering prizes for the staff Christmas Party raffle.

2019 Annual General Meeting
Corfe Hills School Sponsored Walk
For the second year, Corfe Hills School has chosen our Trust to benefit 50% of the sponsorship proceeds from their Annual Walk. This year they raised a fantastic total of £5,088.28. A wonderful effort from all concerned. We thank the school for once again choosing Poole Hospital Cancer Treatment Trust to benefit from this event.
Our picture shows one of our Trustees, Tony Pawley, receiving a cheque for £2,544.14 from Sophie Spencer-Hales and Louis Montague, the representatives of year 10 school council.
Broadstone Wessex Bowls Club Presentation
The current President of Broadstone Wessex Bowls Club, John Hall, made contact with our Chairman saying that their club was proposing to make PHCTT their chosen charity for this year. Several of their members had received treatment for cancer at Poole Hospital in recent times and they wished to acknowledge this fact and thought our charity was the best one to receive their funds as we were made up of volunteers, with all the funds going towards our good works.
They held an Open Day in May, where coaching of inexperienced players took place and all visitors could have a go!
Other events and collections were made during the year and a total of £821.79 was presented to the Treasurer of the Trust, Greg Bemment at the Clubs recent AGM.
Since this presentation, the Ladies section of the Club has donated a further £140.73.
Nisa-Nashim Wessex
This is a group of Jewish and Muslim ladies who work together to build bridges between their two communities.
For their third Annual Coffee Morning, they decided to support Poole Hospital Cancer Treatment Trust and the Chairman, Stuart Dean, was asked to give a talk on the background relating to our charity. He was delighted to do so and was pleased to receive support from the group and to spread the word of its existence.
The coffee morning raised a total of £105.00 plus gift aid. We look forward to continuing our connection with Nisa-Nashim in the future.
